It’s always neat to see new sponsors break into the sport of NASCAR. Whether it’s a food chain, clothing retailer, or an internet product – fans tend to be very supportive of the company. While the sponsor for Alex Bowman’s JR Motorsports (JRM) debut isn’t technically new to the sport, it’s bringing in a new type of sponsorship – podcasting.
Through social media, many fans and NASCAR industry leaders have heard about Dirty Mo Radio (DMR). It’s the podcast station developed by NASCAR Nationwide Series team JRM. For fans of the team and Dale Earnhardt Jr., it’s the place for limitless information and insight.
JRM Director of Communications Mike Davis spearheads the station and is one of personalities found on a couple of their four podcasts. Currently, the station features The Monday Recap, The Dale Jr. Download, Kelly Earnhardt-Miller’s Fast Lane Family, and JRM 360: The Podcast. It has been the year of @JRMotorsports in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Through 23 races, the team has been to Victory Lane a series leading seven times. They also hold the top two positions in drivers standings with @ChaseElliott and @ReganSmith. In another outstanding performance, 18-year old Chase Elliott made it to victory lane for the third time this season. The No. 9 team stole the show throughout the night as they proved early on they were the ones to beat at Chicagoland Speedway. On the Fourth of July, it was only fitting that the Subway Firecracker 250 featured fireworks at the finish. An intense final two laps allowed many different players to emerge in the quest for victory. Once the checkered flag flew, it was JR Motorsports sweeping the top two spots as Kasey Kahne claimed victory. He barely edged out teammate Regan Smith who proved to be strongest throughout the night.
Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Kentucky Speedway seemed to be a one-horse race. That was until the one horse was caught speeding and served a costly penalty.
