What’s Ahead in 2016


GEICO 500As the engines sit quiet in race shops and the high banks of Daytona International Speedway await the return of the thunderous pack of cars, final preparations are made for the 2016 season.

The upcoming year has the potential to be the most thrilling and intense season NASCAR has seen in quite some time. Through the implementation of the low-downforce package, abundance of rookie contenders and the third year of the new Chase for the Sprint Cup format; 2016 has the making to be epic.

Entering my twelfth year as a fan, I have never been more excited for the season to come. Why? It comes from a combination of the factors described above and knowing NASCAR is in a great position as the energy that once defined the sport returns. Continue reading “What’s Ahead in 2016”

Electrifying Eliminations Ahead in Dover

It has produced drama fans only saw in the second half of the final ten races last fall. This attests to the intensity associated with the new system.

NASCAR Stars to Participate in Drive for Autism Golf Outing Prior to Dover Race Weekend

Drive for Autism-June Dover Trip 2014 284Before the “Monster Mile” heats up for May 29-31 race weekend, NASCAR drivers, broadcasters, personalities, and more will tee up in the annual “Drive for Autism” Celebrity Golf Outing.

Held each year in Wilmington, Delaware, drivers will exchange their steering wheels for a golf club to support a great cause. Many of today’s top competitors will be present on May 28th and will compete for the best score rather than a trip to Victory Lane. Dover International Speedway and Dover Downs Hotel & Casino Will Again ‘Light It Up Blue’ for Autism Awareness Month

dovermonsterDOVER, Del. (March 30, 2015) – Dover International Speedway and Dover Downs Hotel & Casino are pleased to once again support Autism Speaks’ global Light It Up Blue campaign. The Monster Monument and hotel exterior will participate by both being illuminated in blue throughout the month of April.

With both companies partaking in this event, this will mean that two of the most distinguishable landmarks in Delaware will be lit up blue during April. The Monster Monument, made of fiberglass and standing at 46-feet tall, is also known as Miles the Monster, the track’s recognizable icon. Located in Victory Plaza, it is one of the largest fiberglass sports monument in the country. The 500-room hotel, Delaware’s largest hotel, will also be lit by blue lights. The Road to Miami: The Challenger Round Surprised, or Did It?

The opening Challenger Round of the 2014 Chase for the Sprint Cup championship turned out to be an interesting set of three races. It’s tough to classify the round as ‘surprising’ when in most ways – it really wasn’t. However, in some cases– it definitely was. The competition proved to be fierce on every lap and it set the tone for the remaining seven events.

Paint Scheme Report: Dover International Speedway

PaintSchemeReportA new feature to Turn 4 Racing News, the “Paint Scheme Report” will depict which cars came to the track looking great and which ones did not. This social media driven report will use pictures found on twitter and discuss what’s great or not so great about the different schemes.

The Challenger Round comes to a close this weekend in Dover. With that in mind, drivers on the  bubble will be doing everything in their power to earn a spot in the Contender 12. Fans are in for a wild AAA 400 as all drivers are going to want to be running up front because that’s their best shot at advancing. A unique set of paint schemes are on track this weekend and we have a lot to discuss in this week’s edition of the Paint Scheme Report.
