Electrifying Eliminations Ahead in Dover

Taking Chances: Earnhardt Jr.’s Talladega Victory Influences Late Race Call in Kansas

It was a big week for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Junior Nation.

Following his first Talladega Superspeedway victory in over a decade, there was plenty of celebrating by the team and fan base. In addition, the 2014 DAYTONA 500 winner opened a new Whisky River location at Charlotte-Douglas Airport – accomplishing impressive feats in both his racing and business life. Paint Scheme Report: Atlanta Motor Speedway

paintschemereportA new season always brings new paint schemes. Many different looks made their debut at Daytona International Speedway last week, and will be back in action this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 will be a long, grueling race with plenty of different drivers taking their turns at the front of the field. This will allow for plenty of TV time for the cars, and some examination of the new looks. Another crop of neat schemes took to the track on Saturday for the NASCAR XFINITY Series race, and join the Sprint Cup cars on this week’s list.

2014 Fan Favorite Driver Contest Results

cms_051614_kahneAfter two weeks of voting, over 16,000 votes, and the most popular tournament to date – the 2014 Fan Favorite Driver has been decided. With 10,159 votes in the final poll, Kasey Kahne has won the tournament over Dale Earnhardt Jr. with 3,474 votes.

Kahne becomes the fourth different tournament winner in its four years of existence. He joins 2011 winner Tony Stewart, 2012 winner Kyle Busch, and 2013 winner Joey Logano.
