2012 Sprint Cup Preview

The 2012 season is almost here and that means Nascar is back. The teams prepare for the Daytona 500 for months, it ‘s the most meaningful race of the season. After last years upset winner Trevor Bayne, anything could happen this year. I belive that it’ll be another surprise driver going to victory lane in Daytona. My pick to win is A.J Allmindinger. With his new team at Penske, he’ll win his first career race and Penske’s 2nd Daytona 500 in 4 years( Ryan Newman won it in 2008). As for dominant drivers for the season I belive it’ll be Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Khane and Carl Edwards. The races at Talladega and Daytona this year will be the best and unpredictable races of the season. When we reach the All-Star break in May, we’ll have 2 drivers with at least 5 wins between them. As we saw last year the “wild card” spot will be very competitive. It’ll likely go down to Richmond before we find out who will be in the chase .In the chase we’ll have new guys from last year like Kasey Khane and Greg Biffle. The two wild cards will go to Brad Keselowski and Greg Biffle. The chase will be very close again with the new point system. The three drivers I belive will be racing for the championship are Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson. The overall championship will go to Kyle Busch. This will be a non-fan friendly pick but I think he has the best chance in his career to do so. Some new winners this season will include A.J Allmindinger, Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr., Jamie McMurray, Greg Biffle. This season will be a great one but will be hard to top 2011.
